Booking a party or event with GameTruck is a simple and stress-free process. It’s a good idea to book your party 4-6 weeks in advance to ensure you can reserve the time and date that works best for you. Once you book an event or party, you gain access to PartyLink, a helpful online resource provided by GameTruck.

Preparing for Our Arrival

GameTruck Atlanta will always call you when we’re on our way so that you can be prepared for our arrival. Our truck can fit in most places a moving truck can, so just make sure there is enough parking space available. When we arrive, we’ll meet with you before the party starts to go over the truck and the games. If you have any questions, our GameCoaches will be happy to answer them.

During the Party: Relax and Enjoy!

Our experienced, professional, and fun-loving GameCoaches host the party for you, so you can just relax and enjoy while the attendees have a blast in our comfy, roomy, air conditioned truck. If your party is for children, you can relax knowing that they are all being supervised and entertained. While they play inside the truck, the adults are free to join in or hang out outside.

After the Party

Because GameTruck is self-contained, there is no cleanup to worry about. Be sure to let us know how the event went as we are always looking to improve your experience.

Summer 2017 Video Game Spotlight

Ah, summertime! What’s better than relaxing during the summer playing video games? This blog explores some of the most anticipated video games being released this summer.

Splatoon 2

Splatoon 2 for the Nintendo Switch is being released July 21, 2017. Splatoon 2 picks up where the last one left off. It is a third-person shooter game, but you shoot paint instead of bullets. In the game, your character can transform into a squid that slides through any painted surface and the matches are won based on which team can paint the most of the level their team’s color. It’s expected to be a big hit this summer.

Dirt 4

Dirt 4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC is being released June 2017. For fans of off-road rally racing, the entire Dirt series is a great choice. Dirt 4 has a few new interesting twists such as a new route creation system, which allows the player to create their very own rally routes at a touch of a button. By choosing the time, location, length, weather, and complexity, the player can create an infinite number of courses to race.

ARMS

ARMS is a fighting game for the Nintendo Switch set to be released in June 2017. ARMS is different from typical fighting games as up to four players can battle using various extendable arms to defeat their opponents in a three-dimensional arena. At the time of its announcement, some critics compared it to the boxing minigame in Wii Sports, yet there is much more to ARMS. It has received generally good reviews.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy for PS4 is set to be released on August 22, 2017. It’s a new standalone adventure in the Uncharted series developed by Naughty Dog. It stars Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross and is set in India. According to Naughty Dog, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is their biggest story expansion to date.

Gaming Terms to Impress Your Kids

Gamers tend to have a whole language of their own. As a parent, are you lost when your kids start throwing out gaming terms you don’t know the meaning of? You’re not alone! GameTruck Chicago has compiled a list of popular gaming terms. This Father’s Day, if you decide to celebrate by playing video games with your kids, you can use these terms and your kids will sure to be impressed.

Pwned

To pwn someone in video games is to completely defeat an opponent or rival. The term began as a typo (“o” is right next to “p” on a qwerty keyboard), but evolved into a deliberate misspelling of the word “own.” The word is not as widespread as it used to be, but it’s still an important term to know. It’s a synonym for the term “rekt.”

n00b

N00b (sometimes simply spelled noob) is a derivation of the word newbie, which is an unskilled or inexperienced player. We’re not exactly sure when the term started being used in the video game world, but it’s good to know if you start playing video games with your kids, as they’ll probably call you one.

Boss

In the world of video games, a boss refers to a particularly difficult antagonist. If you defeat the boss, you typically complete a chapter in the game. Bosses are stronger and have more narrative significance than the other enemies in the game.

Scrub

A scrub in video game terms is a person who is bad at video games. Some people go further with the term by defining a scrub as a gamer with a bad attitude and a tendency to blame their losing on anything or anyone besides themselves. Parents: as long as you’re not a sore loser, you will probably be spared this nickname and merely called a n00b (see above).

Easter Eggs

An easter egg is a piece of hidden information within a game. They are typically comical and have no effect on gameplay. An easter egg can come in the form of a secret bonus level or hidden message coded into the game by the developers.

Nerf

A nerf is a change to a game that reduces the power of a skill or weapon in order to maintain game balance. The term refers to the Nerf brand of toys that are soft and do not cause injury. The opposite of nerf is “buff.”
